Youth

RelationshipsYouth Ministry is defined by relationships.  At TFCE we believe that, in creating us, God gifts us with all kinds of abilities and talents – and it doesn’t matter what age you are, God call us to use those gifts!

Youth need to know that the Episcopal Church truly welcomes them and invites their gifts into the presence of God’s mission.  As our congregation grows, we are continually seeking ways to incorporate young people into the life of the church – from worship and fellow to mission and outreach!

Our Youth Ministry program is comprised of age-appropriate activities for young people in grades 6-12.

FellowshipIn the fall of 2009 we are embarking on a unique partnership with our friends at Falls Church Presbyterian Church to provide fellowship opportunities for our youth.  On Sunday evenings at 5:30pm, youth are invited to gather with us for games, Bible study, and worship in the Fellowship Hall.

On Sunday mornings, we invite young people to join us for Sunday School – and grades 6-12 again share time, space, and learning with other Christian youth from the Presbyterian congregation.  These unique opportunities to have ecumenical discussions are key to developing a strong identity as a worshiping and educated Christian.

Finally, as our young people grow up to be men and women, we are looking to form and shape them as responsible members of the Christian community.  Our CONFIRMATION class pairs young people up with a mentor in the congregation who helps to walk them through a nine month program that encourages regular participation, learning of the foundations of the Episcopal Church and Anglican Traditions, as well as leadership in the parish.  For information on these opportunities, please contact our Priest-in-Charge, The Rev. Michael Pipkin.
