Adult Education

education1Christian faith—especially in the Episcopal Church—requires personal growth in knowledge and understanding.  Because the Episcopal Church has no authoritative Magisterium or Confession aside from the Bible and the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds, it is up to each of us to come to understand the faith in his or her own way within the context of the community of Christians that came before us, live with us, and will follow.  Therefore, The Falls Church Episcopal is committed to offering the best programs in Adult Christian education, discussion, and Bible study available.

This summer, we have two regular offerings:

  • Rev. Cathy Tibbetts, our Priest Associate, is offering a women’s Bible study every Sunday at 4:30 pm in Room 17 at the Presbyterian Church.
  • Another group is reading the book Tokens of Trust, by Rowan Williams.  They meet occasionally on Wednesday nights at 7 pm to discuss individual chapters at Starbuck’s on Broad Street in Falls Church.  They will discuss Chapter 3 on  July 28.

This fall, we will be offering an Education for Ministry program (contact Margret Hjalmarson for more information) and a Sunday morning Adult Sunday School.  Check back for updates on this fall’s lineup!
